Rethink Past & Design Future

Lectures, workshops and debates which consider past events and look for solutions of issues and the challenges of modern world – the  recruitment to the 18. Visegrad Summer School has just started!

The Visegrad Summer School is a series of trainings addressed to young people from the Visegrad Group and Eastern Europe countries, implemented since 2002 by the Villa Decius Association in Krakow. This year's edition will put focus on Past & Future as a as a duo, which should be analyzed complementarily. This year VSS will take place on July 1-13 in renaissance palace Villa Decius in Krakow, Poland. Programme is divided into two parts: first week includes lectures and debates that will be conducted by distinguished experts from all over Europe and second week will be filled by intensive workshops in the fields of MEDIA, BUISNESS and CULTURAL HERIATGE. In the programme, there are also days exclusively dedicated to European Remembrance and Annviersaries (Berlin Wall Fall, V4 joining EU, etc.) and Cultural Diplomacy.

Why is it worth to join VSS community it?

Up to now more than 750 people took part in the previous editions of the Visegrad Summer School. Lectures, workshops and debates are conducted by recognized experts representing various fields: Ambassadors, Ministers, representatives of the European Union, academics, politicians, businessmen, journalists, artists, representatives of the administration, local government and nongovernmental organizations.

Programme of VSS will widen perspectives and inspire  via lectures and debates dedicated to global and regional political, economic, cultural and societal issues. It will also address current developments and burning problems within the EU and the neighboring countries. Among VSS special events and extracurricular activities that are designed to enhance a long-term connections and friendships are: integration workshop, multicultural garden party, study visits in Malopolska Region, cultural events, and recreation. The project brings a chance to gain experience under supervision of experts in multicultural environment and to spend time with peers from all over Europe.

Who is the project addressed to?

The recipients of the programme are students, PhD students, young teachers, entrepreneurs, journalists, young professionals and activists from the Visegrad Group countries, Central, Eastern and Southern Europe citizens, as well as from Eastern Partnership Countries. Please, note that there is age requirement: participants should be 18-32 yo.
